Elections
The Kremmling Sanitation District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Directors are elected to four-year terms by the eligible electors of the district. Vacancies on the Board are filled by appointment until a successor can be elected at the next regular election. To vote in district elections, you must reside and be registered to vote within the boundaries of the district, or own real property in your name located within the district, and be registered to vote in the State of Colorado.
Regular elections for the district's Board of Directors occur on the first Tuesday of May in odd-numbered years. The district uses the polling place election model for elections that are just for Directors. For elections held under the taxpayer bill of rights (TABOR), a mail ballot election will occur. When there are not more candidates than there are offices up for election, state law permits the cancellation of the election and a declaration that the candidates are elected by acclamation.
