What does overage mean?

The overage rate applies to multi-use and commercial bills and is not applicable to single-family.  Overage applies when a unit consumes more than 6,000 gallons of water in a given month. After a commercial or multi-use unit consumes 6,000 gallons of water in a month, the district bills the unit for each 1,000 gallons used thereafter.

What are tap fees?

Tap fees are one-time fees paid to connect a property to the sanitary sewer by tapping into the water main with a service line. Tap fees are designed to pay for the impact a new property will have on the collection system. Tap fees are assessed prior to the issuance of a connection permit.

How do I get a permit?

Connection permits are required anytime a property is connected to the wastewater collection and treatment system. A permit authorizes connection to the sewer and the appropriate terms and conditions thereof. Permits also establish the billing classification of a property. When the use of a property changes, a new permit is required.

To obtain a permit, you must complete a permit application, which includes submission of plans a specifications for connection to the sewer. To obtain a permit application and make submittal of your plans and specifications, email sanmanager@townofkremmling.org

No modification of or connection to the sewer system may occur until a connection permit is issued by the district. Unlawful connection to the sewer is unlawful, and violators will be prosecuted.
