Operator or Operator Trainee 

Position Overview

The Kremmling Sanitation District is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Wastewater Operator or Operator Trainee. This position is responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the District’s wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems to ensure compliance with all state and federal environmental regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes, collection systems, and lift stations.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair facilities, machinery, pumps, motors, vehicles, and related equipment.
  • Operate and maintain a combination jet-vac truck for cleaning and maintenance of lines.
  • Locate and inspect sewer lines, manholes, and new service connections; update system maps as needed.
  • Collect and analyze wastewater samples; assist with laboratory testing and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and maintenance schedules.
  • Perform general janitorial, snow removal, and yard maintenance duties.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in rotating on-call and weekend duty schedules.
  •  Follow all District policies, including safety procedures and standard operating guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to properly and safely operate hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and mechanical equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude related to repair and maintenance of treatment and collection systems.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer proficiency preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the general public.

Employment Type:

Full Time

Compensation: 

$22.00 – $27.00
